About the Company:
Envusa Energy is licensed energy trader jointly owned by EDF Renewables and Anglo American. Envusa is, focused on delivering innovative and industry leading renewable energy solutions to private offtakers across Southern Africa and has a stated aim of developing a 3-5GW Renewable Energy generation portfolio by 2030 off the back of secured offtake. Construction of the first 520MW of wind and solar is at an advanced stage and will start delivering electricity to offtakers in Q4 2025.
About the role:
Envusa is seeking a Commercial and Trading Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping the company's Commercial and Trading Strategy, with a particular emphasis on growing Envusa’s offtaker portfolio and developing the strategy for participation in the future South Africa’s Wholesale Energy Market,
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of innovative commercial and trading strategies, with a strong focus on offtaker portfolios, trading platforms, and SAWEM engagement.
- Act as a commercial interface to customers by growing and maintaining high-impact relationships with offtakers, regulators, and shareholders.
- Build generation and offtaker portfolios to support the commercial and trading strategies
- Be a key advisor to the Commercial Team on commercial and trading strategies.
- Shape market-facing energy products, contracts, and trading models that align with a changing industry landscape.
- Champion risk-managed commercial practices, contributing to project valuation, contract negotiations, and performance planning.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to integrate commercial strategy into business planning, sustainability, and social impact initiatives.
What You’ll Need:
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience in commercial roles, preferably in energy trading or renewable energy.
- Strong background in finance, trading, and customer-focused industries.
- Experience in structuring complex financial transactions and external stakeholder management.
- Skills in financial modelling, energy trading, and project finance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Fluency in English (French or South African languages is a plus).
