We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Planning and Environment Manager to join us in our Energy Solutions in Perth, WA on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Power Development, you will provide support to gain environmental approvals for the development of high voltage power transmission projects in the Pilbara. This role understands interaction between the technical requirements and design elements of project infrastructure and the statutory and stakeholder requirements for a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Building relationships with key stakeholders and assist the business to secure all environmental approvals required for new projects.
- Support the business development team during ideation, pre-feasibility and feasibility study phases for prospective development projects
- Assess strategies and feasibility for land access options required for development projects, whilst providing guidance on the tenure, heritage and statutory approval requirements for new projects across the group
- Contribute to the development and design of innovative land access and impact mitigation strategies to provide a competitive advantage in winning new projects
- Provide support for asset development through engaging with external stakeholders and community representative bodies
- Identify schedule, and manage aspects of the statutory approvals workstream for key projects, overseeing specialist consultants as necessary
Your background
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (for example Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction, Sustainability)
- Demonstrated experience working on Environmental Impact Statements and Environment Effects Statements, along with experience in Indigenous relationships, Indigenous engagement and heritage management
- Extensive understanding of Project development experience within the power or renewable energy industry
- Project development or project management experience on infrastructure projects from $10m to $100m+
- The ability and willingness to travel to the Pilbara, including remote areas
