Each candidate must on closing date for applications:
Hold a third level qualification to a minimum standard of Ordinary Degree NSAI level 7 in;
Architecture
OR
Architectural Technology
OR
Building Construction
OR
Have a Carpentry Craft Cert as recognised by the Irish Standards Authority FAS together with additional qualifications in architectural design, building construction, maintenance or project management.
AND
5 years post qualification experience in the design, construction or maintenance of buildings
AND
5 years’ experience in the management of resources associated with the design, construction or maintenance of buildings.
Post Specific Requirements:
- Demonstrate previous experience and technical knowledge of building design, construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of the building planning process, fire certification and DAC submissions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing refurbishment work.
- Demonstrate knowledge of National and European Standards for building design, construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Irish Building Regulations
- Knowledge and experience of building finishes including painted surfaces, floor coverings and ceilings.
- Demonstrate evidence of computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail and the internet.
- Knowledge of CAD and BIM would be advantageous
- Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organising skills including awareness of resource management and the importance of value for money.
- Experience of the development of work schedules for personnel and contractors.
- Demonstrate experience of the development planned maintenance programs and method statements.
Other Requirements Specific to the Post:
The Buildings Maintenance Manager will be required to participate in emergency call outs. Candidates should live within a reasonable travel time of Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown such that emergencies can be responded to within a reasonable period of time.
Some overtime will be required to be performed periodically.
Additional Remuneration is applicable for Overtime and On-call services where requested in accordance with the HSE Guidelines for payment.
A HSE mobile phone will be provided and required to be carried during working hours.
Where travel expenses are incurred during the performance of work, remuneration will be applicable in accordance with HSE guidelines.
