The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Fellow to conduct research on MOFs synthesis, CO2 storage and capture (employing adsorption technology). The successful candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of innovative methods such as thermal and pressure swing adsorption with MOFs for capturing, storing, and utilizing CO2. This role involves both experimental and computational works, collaboration with industry partners, and the publication of high-impact Journals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct experimental and computational research on CO2 capture, storage, and utilization
MOFs synthesis and characterization for CO2 uptakes and kinetics
Design and development of thermal swing adsorption process
Analyse and interpret data to advance understanding of CO2 storage mechanisms (PSA and TSA) and capture efficiency.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists, engineers, and industry stakeholders
Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations for conferences and stakeholders
Work closely with industry partners to translate research findings into practical applications
Job Requirements:
PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline)
Strong background in MOFs synthesis, CO2 capture, storage, or utilization technologies Hard skills
Experience with experimental techniques (e.g., gas adsorption, spectroscopy, reactor design) and computational modelling (e.g., molecular dynamics, process simulation).
Proven track record of publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals
