- Sr. EHS Specialist - Environmental
Functions:
- Provide support to projects, by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties which will enhance the degree of compliance of the facility with applicable environmental requirements in the areas related to Water, Waste and Air Regulations.
- Perform and or provide support in the preparation of required monthly, semiannual, annual and Biennial environmental reports on time required for EPA, PRASA, EQB, DNER, ADS and other regulatory agencies, as well corporate requirements.
- Provide support and review investigations related to water, waste and air compliance incidents or near misses.
- Lead the implementation process to provide management assistance in maintaining ISO 14001:2017 certified status.
- Provide support during regulatory inspections from PRASA, EQB, EPA, ADS, and DNER on water, waste and air related programs.
- Responsible for the preparation, implementation and follow up of procedures and Plans needed to attain, maintain and/or improve the environmental compliance status of the facility.
- Audit and inspect environmental programs and management systems ensuring that environment regulations are followed.
- Assist in Environmental Policy and Programs which includes orientation and training for new employees and annual training of employees, for facility environmental compliance, site inspections, sampling, log review, best practices, and report preparation to ensure compliance in Air, Waste, and Water reports.
- Support the EHSS department and safety area to conduct Contractors Safety orientation and Safety Equipment orientations.
- Manage environmental data related to manifests, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, Waste
Characterization, determination of Waste Disposal Methods, and sign manifest as per RCRA regulation and any additional Air and water applicable regulation and coordination of environmental monitoring and sampling necessary to comply with environmental regulatory requirements or corporate requirements and maintains the recordkeeping of the environmental data.
- Assist in the data gathering, management and report of Waste disposal expenses and revenues (Recycling and/or Re-use). Manage Waste Management budget and prepare forecasts.
- Ensure proper monitoring of environmental control equipment (air, waste and water) and compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
- Promote a zero-harm workplace and assure that required EHS resources are available and that all applicable EHS practices and rules are being followed by supervised employees.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering or Science Related Field.
- MS degree in Environmental Engineering, Management or in Environmental Science and Technology.
- Minimum of 3-5 years� experience in Environmental field with a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience.
- Computer literate (word, excel, power point).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
