Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a Wind Project Engineer to support the development and construction of wind farm projects. This role will focus on early-stage engineering assessments, support during consenting, constructability reviews, and the seamless transition of projects from development to construction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with balance of plant (BOP) and turbine supply agreements (TSA), including contract negotiations and technical risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct early-stage engineering and constructability assessments for wind farm sites to identify potential design and construction risks.
Provide technical input into project feasibility studies, site layouts, and infrastructure design to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Work closely with development teams to ensure projects are designed for smooth transition into construction.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of BOP and TSA contracts, ensuring alignment with project requirements and technical specifications.
Support procurement processes, including technical reviews of tenders and supplier evaluations.
Collaborate with civil, electrical, and structural engineers to refine project design and mitigate construction risks.
Perform site visits to assess site conditions, grid connections, and access requirements.
Liaise with turbine manufacturers and key stakeholders to ensure technical compatibility and compliance with industry standards.
Review and validate technical documentation, risk assessments, and contractual obligations.
Support construction teams during project execution, ensuring adherence to engineering designs and contract specifications.
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience in wind farm project engineering, with exposure to both development and construction phases.
Strong knowledge of wind farm constructability, site design, and infrastructure requirements.
Experience in contract negotiations for BOP and TSA agreements, including technical and commercial considerations.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with OEMs, contractors, and consultants.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Willingness to travel for site assessments and project meetings.
Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Strong communication skills in English
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience with wind projects.
Familiarity with technical due diligence and risk assessments for financing and permitting.
Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations in renewable energy projects.
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and automation.
Proficiency in wind energy modeling tools (e.g., WindPro, WAsP) and GIS software (e.g., QGIS).
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Understanding of grid connection requirements and site access planning.
Additional languages (Italian, Spanish, or French) are an advantage.
