The Senior Hybrid Energy Analyst will play a crucial role in advancing energy modeling, dispatch optimization, and hybrid system design to support this mission.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Hybrid Energy Analyst / Engineer to lead energy modeling, battery storage optimization, and hybrid system development. Reporting to the Lead Engineer/Manager: Hybrid and BESS, you will oversee key technical and commercial evaluations, ensuring full project alignment across finance, legal, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead energy modeling and dispatch optimization for hybrid and BESS projects.
✔ Perform concept-stage sizing, feasibility studies, and cost estimations.
✔ Conduct technical due diligence on project acquisitions and external reports.
✔ Develop and implement LCOS (Levelized Cost of Storage) and LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) models.
✔ Oversee bid preparations, contract analysis, and risk modeling.
✔ Optimize hybrid system design to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.
✔ Support procurement and contract negotiations for hybrid system components.
✔ Collaborate with asset management teams on performance testing and monitoring.
✔ Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and analysts.
✔ Monitor market regulations, industry trends, and energy policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
✔ Degree in Engineering or Science (BSc, BTech, or equivalent).
✔ Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy.
✔ Expertise in energy modeling tools (HOMER, PLEXOS, PyPSA, or self-developed models).
✔ Proficiency in Python for data analysis and hybrid system modeling.
✔ Strong knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid renewables.
✔ Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Advantageous:
✔ Master’s or PhD in Renewable Energy, Engineering, or Data Science.
✔ Experience in Ancillary Services, Energy & Balancing Markets, and Hybrid Project Tariffs.
✔ Strong background in statistical analysis and data science.
