Summary: The Development Associate assists with the management, retention and growth of the organization’s annual giving and membership programs including Friends of City Park, NOLA City Bark and Carousel Garden Season Passes. This role is focused on member and donor service, prospecting, and stewardship, with additional support of the Park’s fundraising and cultivation events, volunteer needs, membership processing and donor prospecting.
This is a full-time positionEssential Duties and Responsibilities: - Conducts and ensures prompt responses to (in-person, email and phone) member inquiries, requests and needs, solicits member feedback to improve services, always remains supportive and approachable. Elevates appropriate member and donor needs/requests/issues to Membership & Giving Manager.
- Assists with daily member, donor and event data entry and processing in appropriate systems, such as Raiser’s Edge, BOS, WRSTBND, BidPal and NOLA City Bark keycard system. Responds to NOLA City Bark member incident reporting, grounds and maintenance requests, along with tracking and managing NOLA City Bark Grounds and Maintenance reporting through Brightly system and provides updates to members accordingly.
- Assists with appropriate communications to members and donors relating to City Park events, news, programs, activities, and innovations
- Manages and oversees volunteer needs for fundraising and cultivation events, including posting volunteer opportunities to Volunteer Hub, managing volunteer sign-up, and responsible for development volunteer supply management and inventory.
Oversees production and mailing of membership renewal letters, appeal letters, e-campaign distribution lists, and any additional mailings for the department.Assists with stadium advertisement sales, GiveNOLA Day, fundraising event ticket vetting and calendar management for the Development department.- Oversees office supply inventory, ordering, and departmental invoice processing.
- Assist in developing prospecting strategies with development team, in tandem with a moves management structure, to grow member and donor base.
- Proactively performs member and donor research to understand giving history, capacity, donor interests, contact information, etc. for prospects; creates prospect profile to support cultivation efforts.
- Qualifies new prospects through contact and research and identifies donors to assist in building portfolios for the development team.
- Pursues continuing education and growth in proficiency with Raiser’s Edge Database and CRM systems and in donor relations best practices.
As directed by the Membership & Giving Manager, performs other duties as assigned to support the overall department and organization.
Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
