JOB SUMMARY: This position is in Region 4, Air and Radiation Division - Immediate Office. About Region 4 This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. MAJOR DUTIES: You will: Serve as Special Assistant to the Director and Liaison to the Office of Air and Radiation leadership.. Analyze and evaluate (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness of program operations in implementing existing, new, or proposed changes on legislation or regulations related to the Division’s programs. Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems such as those designed to prevent waste, loss, unauthorized use, or misappropriation of assets. Design and conduct comprehensive management studies to identify and propose solutions to complex or controversial management problems with far-reaching scope or impact to a broad range of program operations. Gather and evaluate programmatic data to develop complete decision packages for management. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
