Position Summary
Join our team as a Sustainability Engineer Intern and play a key role in advancing energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives at our GA manufacturing site. This internship offers hands-on experience in operational analysis and project management within the fields of engineering and sustainability. The role provides a unique opportunity to make a measurable impact while gaining valuable professional skills, networking, and mentorship from industry leaders. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead a designated energy sustainability project, overseeing tasks such as project planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct operational analysis to identify energy-saving opportunities and propose actionable recommendations.
- Input energy project details into designated project management systems for tracking and reporting.
- Participate in energy efficiency process improvement initiatives, including audits, testing, and deployment of solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Production Managers, and Plant Managers) to implement and manage energy reduction initiatives.
- Prepare and present technical and business reports, including data visualizations, to communicate findings and project results to stakeholders.
- Support the identification and execution of new energy-focused opportunities within the manufacturing environment.
- Assist with the development and improvement of standard operating procedures related to sustainability practices.
- Actively engage in a minimum of one networking opportunity of your choice through company-sponsored programs such as ERGs (Young Professionals) and volunteer events.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools for analyzing and presenting operational data.
- Basic understanding of energy systems and energy management principles.
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

- Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to identify root causes and propose data-driven solutions.
- Experience with operational efficiency projects or process improvements is a plus.

Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to leadership teams.

Project Management:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
- Experience leading small-scale projects, including planning, execution, and reporting, is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including occasional exposure to noise, machinery, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally for project-related tasks.
- Occasional travel to other local manufacturing sites (as needed) for project work or team meetings.
- Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods (e.g., 6–8 hours per day).
