Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Houston, TX.
Job Description: Design and automate pre-engineered, electrical systems to meet functional requirements for customer orders. Ensure execution alignment with the overall Configured-To-Order (CTO) and Wiring Simplification ambitions enabling reduced lead times by driving order engineering and shop floor labor productivity. Engage Offer Management and Plants to support Offer Development projects to ensure electrical functional requirements and execution alignment with CTO strategy. Leverage Engineered-To-Order (ETO) technical product knowledge and process knowledge to work successfully on a cross-functional teams composed of Order Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Selector Teams, and other Middle Office teams like Technology, Automation, and Data Analytics team. Test, certify, and recertify configurator outputs for all Offer Development projects. Research drawing automation outputs from configurator for various product applications and Order Engineering "fixes" that can be applied to product configurator generated output. Eligible for fully remote work but must live within commuting distance of Schneider Electric’s Houston, TX worksite.
Requirements: Position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Reading, understanding, and creating electric drawings for power equipment, including low voltage or medium voltage switchboards, switchgears, or motor control centers; Creating electrical contents with SEE Electrical CAD software; Using configurable, pre-engineered drawings to design customer-centric power equipment products and assist in effective requirements gathering; Designing electrical systems, including breaking down a set of completed electrical schematics into sub-circuits aligning with electrical functions; and Aligning electrical functions with product selector questions and answers to drive configurator logic allocating sub-circuits.
