What you’ll be doing.
The Lead Marine Assurance Manager is a key role within the Offshore Renewables Business, focussing on marine operations conducted in the delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects and large work packages in the UK, Europe and overseas.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Department Manager, you will support a portfolio of projects potentially across different geographical areas. You’ll be responsible for leading a small team of Marine Assurance Managers in providing capability to support shipping and navigation consenting matters to secure consents from a navigation perspective, support the management of marine operations during the construction phase and drive strategy to implement future marine technology and innovation to de-risk future projects.
Working with the other Lead Marine Assurance Managers to develop and implement global operating procedures on all matters regarding the planning and management of marine operations in Group controlled areas, including related H&S frameworks, you will establish and keep strong relationships with all major marine stakeholders including Regulators, Shipping Authorities, Governments, Consultees, Communities, sub consultants and suppliers on an international basis.
Being responsible for defining and implementing robust and cost-effective specialist technical strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating and managing £multi-million offshore contracts, planning and implementing delivery sites and logistics, you will be required to lead delivery phases including management of multiple Offshore contractors and associated interfaces, defining company and business specialist technical standards and technical acceptance criteria, ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&S performance are applied.
What you’ll bring.
With considerable experience in respect to vessel and marine assurance, with demonstrable knowledge of Offshore Renewable Energy Installations (OREI) legislation and UK consent requirements essential, you will be experienced in managing a team and delivering against targets and reporting, with demonstrable knowledge implementing navigational risk assessments.
Possessing previous experience within Sea service as a Senior Deck Officer along with relevant experience within Offshore/Marine/Renewable sectors, you should have experience of IMCA Inspection documents, CMID & MISW and HSEQ experience within a marine environment, including accident investigation.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have considerable experience in respect to vessel and marine assurance, with demonstrable knowledge of Offshore Renewable Energy Installations (OREI) legislation and UK consent requirements essential.
- You’ll be well experienced in managing a team and delivering against targets and reporting and will have demonstrable knowledge implementing navigational risk assessments.
- You will likely have earlier experience within Sea service as a Senior Deck officer along with relevant experience within offshore/marine/renewable sectors.
- You should have experience of IMCA Inspection documents CMID & MISW and HSEQ experience within a marine environment including accident investigation. NEBOSH certification is considered essential, and you will have completed an Offshore survival training program.
- Ideally you will be multilingual with an ability to speak Spanish, French or German desirable.
