As a Mechanic for Via, you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete highly varied and complex projects related to vehicle and equipment service
- Repair and/or replace any subsystem associated with heavy, medium, and/or light duty automotive equipment
- Work with other maintenance workers, operators, and transportation supervisors
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
Who You Are:
- Possess knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of diesel and unleaded vehicles and related shop equipment
- Able to work on their feet eight hours per day, lift 100 pounds, and carry parts, equipment, and supplies
- Possess excellent manual dexterity
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, including trade or vocational school. Additional training at manufacturer’s schools, courses, or seminars is a plus.
- Hold a valid CA driver’s license
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical
- Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
- Able to apply in person at our Los Angeles depots
Compensation and Benefits:
- Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
- Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
