JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Human Resource Specialist, GS- 0201-7/9 working for the Joint Administrative Operations: HR Operations-Processing Division. Please Note: If selected, you may be placed at a regional office, field office, current duty station, or other DOI-owned or leased worksite at the discretion of management. This position may also be eligible for remote work. Additional questions regarding placement should be reserved for the interview process. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Human Resource Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Assists and reviews the Federal HR transaction processing functions for the Service by providing technical guidance and assistance to HR Assistants. Ensures the accurate and timely processing of a host of personnel actions which range from routine to complex in accordance with laws, regulations, policies and guidance. Conducts the technical and regulatory review of the full range of personnel actions. Reviews and analyzes FPPS system edits to determine necessary action needed for processing personnel actions timely and accurately. Manages the FPPS batch process to take timely action on system generated ticklers and certification notices for new supervisors' probationary periods, expiration of time-limited appointments, Leave Without Pay (LWOP), within-grade increases, change in tenure group, and other actions and transactions for which reminders are generated.
