As a interdisciplinary-team member, the incumbent is responsible for completing architectural history studies and project effects analysis for transportation projects pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Public Resource Code 5024 and other applicable state and federal regulations. This position is under the supervision of a Project Delivery Branch Chief, Office of Cultural Resource Studies. The incumbent identifies and evaluates built resources as part of the transportation project development process; prepares written analyses of such resources to aid in the project development process; prepares written analysis of project effects on cultural resources; and, develops and recommends avoidance, minimization as needed for compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Environmental Planner (Architectural History) exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
