JOB SUMMARY: This position performs work involving the management and control of a variety of substantive and complex construction, stabilization, repair, restoration, and accessibility projects. The incumbent represents the NPS and works within a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, conservators, preservation specialists, historians, environmental specialists, natural resource specialists, and technical support personnel to plan, execute, monitor, and track the completion of park projects. MAJOR DUTIES: Provide technical analysis/reports related of construction documents, construction progress/conditions, associated supplemental documents to lead problem-solving for constructability issues with quality, scope, time impacts/progress schedules, modifications, etc.for active Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative to support construction contracts. Apply Value Based Decisions/Value Engineering principles through a collaborate process with the extended project teams (i.e. inhouse, consultants, construction contractors, estimators, etc.) to identify cost-benefit solutions. Assist Project Managers with proactive construction risk mitigation (including safety) processes by utilizing project controls/protocols, and documentation for projects of national historic significance, new construction, infrastructure systems and other. Communicate effectively in writing and orally to facilitate problem-solving strategies utilizing construction scheduling software, construction project management software, and MSOffice tools for multiple project with varying complexities/types and construction funding. TERM Position: This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of nine years. This term appointment is in support of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), National Parks and Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF).
