Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 2025. MAJOR DUTIES: Duties at the GS-05 grade level. Implement established natural resource management projects. Identify native and non-native plants in Northeastern United States natural areas including wetlands, meadows, woods, and garden areas. Complete trainings and follow instructions and standardized safety procedures associated with the use of field equipment and handling of herbicides. Work with crews managing invasive plants and restoring native vegetation. Collect and organize field data associated with the management of plant species. Duties at the GS-07 grade level. Implement established natural resource management projects. Identify native and non-native plants in Northeastern United States natural areas including wetlands, meadows, woods, and garden areas. Complete trainings and follow instructions and standardized safety procedures associated with the use of field equipment and handling of herbicides. Lead field crew managing invasive plants and restoring native vegetation. Record data relating to plant studies and plant treatment areas using GNSS equipment. Lead or conduct field searches for populations of sensitive, threatened or endangered plant species. AREA INFORMATION Minute Man National Historical Park is located 16 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts in Concord, Lincoln, and Lexington, MA. The Park preserves and interprets the historic structures and landscapes associated with the opening of the American Revolution that lie along the route of the battle of April 19, 1775, as well as notable literary figures. Spanning 1,000 acres and consisting of 4 units, structures within the park include the North Bridge, 5.5-mile Battle Road Trail, 11 witness homes that were present at the time of the battle, extensive archaeological resources, and The Wayside, home of Bronson Alcott, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorn, and Margaret Sidney.
