Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Branch Chief of Traffic Safety Engineering, a Senior Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent, an Associate Governmental Program Analyst, serves as the Traffic Safety Administrative Support Analyst in the Traffic Safety Engineering Branch. The incumbent performs journey-level and the most complex administrative duties in support of the Traffic Safety Engineering Branch.
The incumbent assists with performing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) remediation and updating/publishing new and updated guidance of various Traffic Safety publications. Supports the facilitation of Traffic Safety meetings/events, including the California Traffic Control Devices Committee (CTCDC). Researches, analyzes, summarizes, and prepares Traffic Safety documents, including: Proven Safety Countermeasure guidelines, Pedestrian and Bicyclist guidelines, the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), and documents related to the California Traffic Control Devices Committee (CTCDC). Assists engineers with planning, organizing, coordinating, and preparing presentations developed by and for the Traffic Safety Engineering Branch.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
