Wheat Ridge Regional Center
This work unit exists to coordinate, implement, and oversee projects for WRRC that affect operation and safety of 15 ICF/ID residential homes. Most projects are related to maintenance, equipment, and facility related concerns. This unit acts as the liaison for the Division of Facilities Management (DFM). Performs inspections of the homes to ensure environmental and resident safety concerns are either mitigated or work orders submitted to DFM. Serves on the Division of Regional Centers safety committee. Ensures appliances in all the homes are in safe working condition and replaces appliances as necessary and in emergency situations. Conducts inspections of and requests maintenance of and security and safety systems ie. WanderGuard, motion sensors, alarms, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Provides fire watch in homes as needed. Updates and verifies equipment on the yearly capital asset inventory.

Description of Job

This unit acts as the liaison for the Division of Facilities Management (DFM). Performs inspections of the homes to ensure environmental and resident safety concerns are either mitigated or work orders submitted to DFM. Serves on the Division of Regional Centers safety committee. Ensures appliances in all the homes are in safe working condition, replaces unserviceable furniture and appliances as necessary and in emergency situations. Coordinates resident moves. Conducts inspections of and requests for maintenance of AEDs. Provides fire watch in homes as needed. Updates and verifies equipment on the yearly capital asset inventory.
Duties and Activities:Coordinate agency projects for repair and upkeep of facilities used by WRRC
Acts as liaison with Division of Facilities Management to coordinate facility repair and maintenance (homes, administration building, day programming building)
Researches and makes decisions related to the purchasing of agency furnishings
Performs routine and emergency assessments of environmental situations
Serves on the division environmental safety team. Coordinates in the development of plans of correction
Coordinate resident moves. Switchboard coverage as needed
Remove and dispose of unserviceable furniture or equipment
Maintain inventory of tools and equipment. Issue agency keys, assisting in key control duties
Staffing manager projects. Flag duties
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Experience Only:
Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years.
Conditions of Employment:
- CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
- must demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, squat, etc. and perform physical interventions proficiently (pre-employment and continuously
throughout employment). - TB Testing, Influenza and other vaccines as required by the State of CO
- Current/Valid and unrestricted US Driver’s License, Driver’s license must be current, valid and unrestricted and remain so throughout
employment. If unable to drive state vehicles, could experience loss of position, classification, shift and/or employment. - Position must travel to remote work sites and must utilize a state vehicle, if available.
If not, must utilize personal vehicle and submit for mileage reimbursement. - WRRC is a 24/7 facility, therefore person in this position must be available to work any shift, any day
and/or any area, to meet agency needs - May be required to respond in emergency situations on occasion
- Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials – Proximity to moving, mechanical parts. Exposure to
toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to electrical shock. - Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
