With plans to see SP Energy Networks (SPEN), part of the ScottishPower Group, look to invest over £5bn in transmission projects across our transmission network in central and southern Scotland by 2030, the Land and Planning (L&P) team will play a key role in supporting SPEN to work at pace to deliver the distribution and transmission network that is required to support ambitious 2030 Scottish and UK Government targets.
The Senior Analyst will assist and support the wider L&P team in the gathering, interpretation and reporting of data, both financial and land rights related, to meet the needs of a variety of reporting requirements and to improve process and optimise results.
Support the Land Solutions, Policy and Performance Manager to govern commercial activity and identify and implement Process Improvement and Business Change activities to facilitate delivery and reporting of Land & Planning activities including its regulatory requirements as a part of Price Review delivery plans.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for providing key internal management information on regulatory and commercial performance throughout the year.
- Plays a pivotal role producing cost and economic analysis, providing regulatory advice to Land & planning and by consolidating cost forecasts for various parts of the business plan.
- Assist in preparing and planning presentations on financial, land rights volumes and regulatory performance to management teams.
- Supporting submission of the annual regulatory cost and output reporting packs (RRP), providing leadership and direction to staff in Land & Planning to ensure a complete and accurate submission.
- Liaise and collaborate closely with other wider business regarding production of required regulatory and financial submissions.
- Responsible for delivery of training and awareness across the Land & Planning team regarding data production and commercial and regulatory information.
- Support to teams on the preparation, financial management and governance of the related service provider frameworks.
- Responsible for supporting Land Solutions, Policy & Performance Manager in the production of commercial reports and associated Governance.
- Responsible for L&P financial and data processing and reporting through SAP and other internal department systems.
- Responsible for implementation of key data process improvement activities.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for an individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills with strong attention to detail and is numerically articulate. They will be able to devise solutions to complex problems with conflicting perspectives and have the ability to use a range of techniques to display, report and monitor data to a variety of audiences.
To be successful, as a minimum you will demonstrate:
- Degree qualification in numerical based subject or substantial relevant experience in a related field.
- Evidence of strong presentational and communication skills.
- Fully competent in use of Microsoft (Excel, Word & Powerpoint).
- Fully competent in the use of SAP or similar financial / data reporting systems.
- Good understanding of commercial aspects of business reporting.
