We have successfully started a number of privately and publicly financed large-scale initiatives to enable innovative greenhouse gas mitigation technologies – such as Green PtX/Hydrogen/Fertilizer, Green Cooling, Grid Energy Storage, E-mobility and Carbon Capture and Storage – by harnessing carbon markets and EU/national policy frameworks.
And we're not done yet. We are currently looking for a dedicated, ambitious and experiences Senior Carbon Market Consultant (m/f/d) who is passionate about working with a highly motivated team in developing innovative strategies and new project ideas to foster climate change mitigation.

YOUR ROLE IN SHORT
As team member of our business field Carbon Markets, you will support our clients in accessing and using carbon markets for financing greenhouse gas mitigation projects in various sectors. In your day-to-day work you will be contribute to and manage various projects throughout the carbon project cycle – including Art. 6 / VCM feasibility studies, PDD and MADD writing, carbon revenue due diligence services and contributing to new Art. 6 methodologies for different project types. You will be responsible for autonomously develop GHG mitigation assessments in various sectors (e.g. renewable energy, energy efficiency, transport) and for supporting our clients throughout the carbon project cycle. You will serve as a key resource person and guide, manage, and work inside project teams using your strong technical and analytical expertise to successfully develop and steer mitigation projects, and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting frameworks.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new methodologies and revise existing methodologies for various project types, including e.g. green hydrogen / PtX, green cooling, energy system optimisation, CCS, negative emission technologies, etc.

Providing technical expertise and deliverables to various carbon market projects – covering key standards such as Art. 6, Gold Standard and Verra’s VCS – and interacting with clients and project partners.
Typical topics include:
- Feasibility Studies for carbon market projects in different sectors
- Due Diligence assessment for arbon market projects in different sectors
- Writing Project Design Documents (PDDs) / Mitigation Activity Design Documents (MADDs) for projects in different sectors; including determination of baseline- and project emissions, additionality discussion, leakage, MRV, and all other relevant aspects of the PDD. You should be able to deliver on all those aspects autonomously; but you will have colleagues as sparrings partners.
- Conceptual design of climate finance and carbon market activities, incl. building and applying robust international, national, sectoral and project-specific GHG emission reduction methodologies
- Designing frameworks to measure and report mitigation impacts at the international, national, sectoral and project-level
- Independent written input into deliverables; elaboration of Excel-based calculations and PowerPoint presentations
- Autonomously manage projects (incl. client communication) and project teams and partners
- Present results to project stakeholders and wider international audiences, and justify outcomes/findings
- Support business development and sales with content-inputs
YOUR PROFILE
- 7+ years of professional experience in the field of carbon markets related to different sectors (e.g., energy / transport / industry / waste / agriculture)
- You are a dedicated and experienced professional who cares about climate change, is enthusiastic about developing new ideas and projects and about taking responsibility within a team of highly motivated professionals
- Master’s degree related to environmental engineering, renewable energies, or similar
- Proven work experience on carbon market projects and methodology development, and/or climate mitigation impact accounting, including baseline methodologies (e.g. UNFCCC/CDM, Verra, Gold Standard), IPCC guidelines or corporate GHG accounting protocols is a plus
- Fast solution-orientated thinker with an ability to articulate concepts clearly in writing and verbally
- Ability to transfer technical / analytical assessment into high-quality and easy-to-understand outputs(verbally and in writing)
- Proven ability to manage projects autonomously, including client communication
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills that meet highest professional standard
- Well-structured with an abilit to set priorities
- Strong desire in moving things forward and bringing in own ideas
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Proficient user of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Full working proficiency in English is a must; French, Spanish, Arabic and/or German are considered a plus
