Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Project Director to join our team in Germany.
The role
The Project Director will become part of a small but experienced team of professionals contributing to the delivery of large-scale projects of this innovative technology across Europe, positioning themselves, CISC and CIP at the global forefront of energy storage investment, development and construction.
Reporting to the Managing Director, EMEA Projects, the Project Director will be responsible for CIP’s BESS projects in Germany from late development stage, through construction and commissioning of the project to the point of handover into operation. Securing the right organization and establishing the overall targets and secure timely initiation of Planning & Execution of the EPCI project.
The role can be based in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin.
Responsibilities will further consist of:
- Support the development team through the stages of permitting and securing the grid connection
- Recruiting and structuring of the team that will support the project construction. The Project Director will be the line manager of the CISC staff during the construction phase and will oversee the Owner’s Engineer Contract to create a single cohesive project team
- Overseeing and leading the projects through the Construction phase following a successful Financial Investment Decision (FID)
- Develop the policies, processes and procedures to support the achievement of the project goals
- Propose and agree contract package split and tender strategy
- Source selection (ITT, evaluation, shortlisting & contract award), contract management & close-out.

You
The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in engineering, construction management or other relevant field with over 5 years' experience working with delivery of large construction projects in the energy sector, preferably in Germany.
Moreover, you are a highly responsible and motivated individual who is thriving in a highly effective and innovative environment.
We look for the following in a candidate
- PMI Certification or equivalent project management training as well as experience with stage-gate process
- Extensive leadership skills to ensure an efficient interface between construction packages
- Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Comprehensive analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in German and English, both verbal and written, as well as great communication skills
- Willingness to work in an international, efficient, and highly varied environment.
