About the role:
- Experience with climate change aspects, including GHG assessments, Science-Based Targets, net-zero strategies, and decarbonization roadmaps, is essential.
- Experience with LCA, PCF, EPD, Product Sustainability, and Circularity is desirable.
- Lead and manage large, global projects, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability.
- Provide expert guidance on strategic ESG-related matters by leveraging our global pool of subject matter experts.
- Foster innovation and drive growth within a dynamic and collaborative team.
- Support the development and delivery of clients’ post-investment portfolio company ESG programs, working alongside clients' ESG, investment, and operating teams, as well as portfolio company management teams.
- Offer insights, guidance, and support to clients and portfolio company management on integrating ESG and impact considerations into broader business practices and models to ensure long-term sustainable business value creation.
- Develop repeatable processes, frameworks, toolkits, assessment scorecards, and other resources for clients and support their implementation across investment portfolios.
- Demonstrate expertise in frameworks and regulatory drivers, including TCFD, CBAM, RED II/III, CEAP, and EU Green Deal components (SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD).
- Exhibit the ability to identify and manage commercial and operational risks, from project conception through to delivery.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective project communication and engagement, high-quality deliverables, and translating complex technical topics into actionable commercial insights and opportunities.
- Provide strong leadership skills, emphasizing engagement, sound decision-making, and effective execution.
About you:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Junior roles: At least 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Senior roles: 8+ years of experience, with a proven track record of leading projects, developing client relationships, and delivering results.
- Demonstrated experience in ESG advisory, sustainability consulting, private market investment advisory, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and regulatory drivers, including TCFD, EU Green Deal components (SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD), ESG Data Convergence Initiative, IRIS+, Impact Management Project, and Operating Principles for Impact Management.
- Experience with climate change aspects such as GHG assessments, Science-Based Targets, net zero strategies, and decarbonization roadmaps (preferred).
- Familiarity with sustainability and ESG performance improvement tools and methodologies, including value creation planning, supply chain assessments, and sustainability certifications.
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.
- Excellent German and English language skills.
