About
I am a recent graduate of the Master of Environmental Science program at the University of Toronto, specializing in climate change impacts and adaptations. With a solid foundation in physical and environmental sciences, complemented by a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Statistics, I have honed my technical expertise and practical experience in environmental research and sustainability projects.
During my internship as a Junior GIS Technician at the University of Toronto, I worked on significant environmental projects, including the delineation of lake and catchment boundaries and contributing to a comprehensive wetland inventory for 106 lakes in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River basin. This role allowed me to refine my GIS skills in spatial analysis and data management, working independently after minimal training to produce high-quality maps and datasets for ongoing wetland conservation efforts.
In addition to my GIS expertise, I have extensive fieldwork experience, including geophysical surveys utilizing Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and resistivity tomography. I have worked on geological hazard assessments and wetland geophysics research, where I assessed geomorphic structures and subsurface characteristics. My practical experience enables me to work in both office-based and outdoor environments, demonstrating my adaptability and technical proficiency.
I am skilled in ArcGIS, Python, and RStudio for data analysis, mapping, and geospatial processing. My strong communication and project management skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, make me a highly effective team member. I am passionate about sustainability and eager to apply my skills to contribute meaningfully to corporate sustainability and environmental conservation initiatives.
