About
I've spent 25 years in software, mostly building things that didn't exist yet. I've run a
line of business as a VP reporting to the CEO, owned product strategy and roadmap, built
product-marketing and go-to-market functions from scratch, led a global solutions
architecture practice with full P&L and gross-margin accountability, and directed an
advanced engineering team supporting a $2.5B software portfolio. That range means I'm
comfortable setting strategy with a board and equally comfortable in the delivery details.
I'm now focused on climate. I'm increasingly alarmed by the warming climate and want the
second half of my career to contribute to mitigation and resilience rather than watch from
the sidelines. That isn't abstract for me: I volunteer with the Richmond Tree Stewards as a
pruner and planter, improving our urban tree canopy — including the interaction between
trees and overhead power lines that utilities manage every day.
I also work AI-first, using frontier models and agents daily, including hands-on AI-assisted
software development.
