An exciting opportunity has become available for a Sustainability Officer to join our Sustainability team.

Reporting to the ESG/Sustainability Manager, the Sustainability Officer will support the execution of the company’s ESG strategy through ESG data management, performance monitoring and reporting. The role will also support the rollout and monitoring of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) and coordinate selected environmental, resource-efficiency and Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) projects.

Minimum Requirements

BSc, BTech or Diploma in a STEM-related field, including Environmental Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
2–5 years’ relevant working experience
Experience in Sustainability, ESG, environmental management, sustainability reporting, ESG data management, responsible sourcing and/or Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD)
Demonstrated experience collecting, validating, analysing and reporting non-financial or operational data
Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and maintaining audit-ready supporting evidence
Working knowledge of energy, greenhouse-gas emissions, water, waste, recycling and resource-efficiency metrics
Understanding of environmental and social risk management and ESMS principles
Ability to prepare concise dashboards, management reports, presentations and committee submissions
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability
Understanding of data quality, calculation methodologies, evidence retention, version control and audit trails
Working knowledge of ESG reporting concepts and frameworks, including IFRS S1/S2, GRI, SASB, SBTi and CDP
Valid driver’s licence
Willingness and ability to travel extensively

Advantageous

Retail, FMCG, supply-chain or multi-site operating experience
Power BI or comparable data-visualisation capability
