The Work You Will Do:
This advanced level Environmental Consultant position will be responsible for providing contract and procurement support to the Petroleum Restoration Program in the Agency Term Contracts section. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating management activities of contracted staff and has the responsibility of handling various assignments, and representing the Program, in both internal and external meetings. The position includes sections devoted to planning, contract management, technical support, and data management. The incumbent must use independent judgement and problem-solving skills to successfully accomplish the job. Critical thinking and highly effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this position.
The Difference You Will Make:
This position is critical in the cleanup of petroleum contaminated facilities in Florida. The PRP Program provides funding to conduct activities to protect the State’s natural resources and drinking water along with the health and welfare of the citizens of Florida. The Environmental Consultant will work with the Administration, Site Managers, and Contract Managers to provide contract and procurement support to the Petroleum Restoration Program.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates the development and provision of direct legal, financial, and contract negotiation support to the PRP or for major procurements as required.
- Assists in developing and sharing guidance associated with implementing the Agency Term Contracts and processes on the Agency Term Contract Team.
- Manages assigned contracts during their term, audits contracts for compliance, updates contract data in the PRP database and provides excellent customer service.
- Ensures compliance with state law, policies and procedures and contract terms.
- Provides ongoing analysis of PRP’s contracts and interprets rules, policies and procedures as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Petroleum Restoration Program Policies, Procedures and Guidance Documents.
- Knowledge of Cleanup and Procurement Rules.
- Knowledge of state procurement statutes and rules.
- Skill in providing technical assistance to address various levels of system needs.
- Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
Required or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of verifiable related experience; or Any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described above, for a total of seven years.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
