POSITION - Union: Markout Representative
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1
Responsibilities
- Reads, interprets and understands Distribution maps and records concerning the location of underground facilities.
- Operates, cleans and reports any repairs concerning mark-out equipment.
- Accurately locates and marks out underground facilities related to Distribution operations, as required.
- Makes sketches of existing facilities not recorded, or incorrectly recorded, on the Distribution records.
- Is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicle.
- Complete on-call responsibilities during on-call rotation.
- When not marking out underground facilities assists in other duties of the Distribution Division.
- Directs the work of one or more helpers, as required.
- Assists other Distribution employees in proper use of mark-out equipment, as required.
Skills and Requirements
- Must have knowledge of the distribution system and understand the construction and operation of Distribution Division equipment and tools with two (2) or more years experience in the Distribution Department with included training and experience in locating gas facilities or equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
- Must be able to make simple arithmetic calculations accurately; have training and be able to read mechanical drawings and be able to keep records.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and a reasonable amount of strength and agility.
- Must have a Connecticut driver's license and experience in driving motor vehicles.
- Must be able to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.
- AVANGRID employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
