Job Summary
Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of Gas OQ training programs and recommends modifications as necessary. Maintains records of activities and employee progress, monitors and report status of OQ Program across Avangrid Gas Companies.
Responsible for the overall program control and reporting, providing information of the scheduling, cost controlling and reporting processes and functions. Ensures the Operator Qualification Program is delivered on schedule, within budget and in conformance to applicable standards and regulations.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
- Track and report OQ compliance
- Coordinate, track and report the schedule of employees to complete OQ tests
- Schedule Prometric’s for requalification of Written Exams
- Coordinate OQ training schedule with HR Training and Gas Operations
- Track and report the verification that contractors are qualified to company Plan
- Maintains OQ training databases up to date
- Keep Job Profile and Positions accurate to company needs and regulatory requirements
- Interpret state regulations and requirements
- Maintain the written plan for OQ; modify procedures and standards; communicate plan requirements
- Conduct annual review of training content accuracy in partnership with Corporate Training and the effected businesses
- Make sure industry best practices are incorporated into OQ program as applicable
- Manages the department budget and spending
- Act as liaison between AVANGRID and regulatory bodies during audits
- Represent AVANGRID on NGA OQ Committees to ensure company advocacy together with Corporate training when necessary
- Evaluate current and emerging OQ approaches throughout the gas industry
- Proctor performance Evaluations during peak season or when necessary
Skills and Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to proctor performance OQ exams
- Ability to work in a team environment and across different companies
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Ability to work in cross functional environmental
- Understanding of Natural Gas and Operator Qualification program
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts presented accordingly
- Results oriented
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum of 5 years total professional experience
Preferred Education and experience
- Knowledge and experience with the Northeast Gas Associations NGA Written plan and processes
