Your mission:
Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, this position is an advanced level position in the Sustainability & Technology group. This position optimizes mill environmental performance and assures compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Environmental Coordinator will pay particular attention to regulatory compliance, air emissions and waste management. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Ensuring compliance with Provincial and Federal Regulations
- Acting as the primary contact with external agencies regarding regulatory requirements
- Communicating environmental performance through oral and written reports
- Liaising with Operations, Maintenance and people within the Sustainability & Technology group regarding environmental matters.
- Managing department Capital Projects/Expense Projects and department environment budgets
- Reviewing day to day mill operation
- Reporting out at internal meetings as required
- Assisting with troubleshooting environmental and process issues as required.
- Managing the Environmental ISO system
Your profile:

- Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science with an environmental or chemical focus, or
- Environmental Technologist degree/diploma with mechanical focus, or other post-secondary education in an environmental or chemical field, combined with relevant work experience
- A minimum of one year work experience in a comparable position, ideally in the pulp and paper industry
- Knowledge of all regulations, procedures, and licenses governing the environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as succeed independently
- Good organization and time-management skills
