Responsibilities:
- Responds to telephone calls by taking messages, answers questions and directs calls to the appropriate person.
- Processes permits for all permitting programs to include on-site, food establishments and solid waste restitution.
- Responsible for application process and scheduling of daily inspections for the on-site program and food service; Responsible for maintenance file on inspections.
- Distributes mail within department.
- Assists other support staff with excessive workload.
- Collects fees and makes change.
- Maintains a record of available personnel.
- Answers inquiries from the public or other departments.
- Inputs and retrieves data from computer system.
- Provides typing, filing and distribution of documents and reports.
- Responsible for application process and scheduling of daily inspections for the on-site program and food service; responsible for maintenance file on inspections.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years general work experience.
- Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM); 10-key by touch; good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, elected officials and outside agencies.Ability to learn and comprehend established office routines and polices form oral and written instructions; inclusive of financial-mathematical tasks, understanding of ethics-confidential issues.
SALARY RANGE: $15.00-Min-$21.47-Max/ per hour
