This Spring Trainee position is from January through May 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on your schedule) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
SPE is looking for a Sustainability Trainee to join a team that believes in leaving our world better than we found it and achieving the Sony-wide goal of being Net Zero by 2040. The role will contribute to these efforts by supporting a variety of activities, from required and voluntary environmental reporting, identifying, and implementing improvements in the operations, and supporting compliance and ISO14001 programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the collection, validation, and analysis of greenhouse gas (GHG) data across all business operations.
- Analyze data and create reports/ presentation for the management team to assess progress towards targets
- Read local and/or national environmental policies and summarize into relevant impacts for the business
- Assist in the documentation and reporting of environmental systems for various Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
- Prepare environmental-related materials and reports for management review.
- Verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with environmental targets and maintain the integrity of the management system.
- Complete various tasks listed in the EHS and Sustainability compliance calendar, including a variety of inspections on the Studio Lot
- Assist with employee engagement activities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team
- Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Interest and skills in problem-solving, creative thinking, and handling a variety of tasks
- Adept in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (Visio and SharePoint are also helpful)
- Understanding or interest in environmental issues, and example would be familiarity with GHG accounting or reading environmental regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Environmental science, engineering, or environmental area of study or experience.
- Experience or ability to read government policy documents
- Interest in corporate sustainability or environmental policy and rule making
The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
