The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Sustainability and Resilience practice as an Associate. Candidates will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams internally and externally to implement and manage green building certifications, energy modeling and analysis, decarbonization projects, low embodied carbon buildings and Whole Building Life Cycle Analysis in addition other innovative high performance design features.
Responsibilities
Manage projects and client relationships. Interact with team members and clients regarding project information.
Manage certification work on projects of all scales: LEED, WELL, fitwel, Living Building Challenge Core, Passive House, SITES, ParkSmart, Envision, and others as required.
Manage various technical scopes of work on projects including energy modeling, whole building life cycle analysis, daylighting/ glare analysis, thermal comfort analysis and others.
Manage project and project tasks for financial forecasting and billing in collaboration with the accounting department.
Lead and Participate with team members in sustainable design charrettes, workshops, and design competitions. Attend design and construction meetings.
Provide technical guidance on energy systems, sustainable materials and construction methods.
Primary focus on East Coast projects with the ability to collaborate on projects across the country and around the globe as opportunities arise with our clients.
Assist clients in goal setting and identifying project-specific targets and metrics as appropriate for the project.
Participate/facilitate meetings with project team members to review and document sustainability/certification requirements.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
Present results and recommendations to clients, ensuring they understand the value and implications of the findings.
Identify and act on opportunities for new projects and business expansion.
Attend industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay abreast of market trends and to network with potential clients.
Requirements
Background in building science, architectural, engineering, and/or construction fields.
8+ years of experience in building sustainability consulting, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
LEED Accredited Professional and experience with other third-party certifications such as WELL, Fitwell, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge.
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards related to energy efficiency.
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Project management experience: i.e. managing client expectations, managing project teams internally and externally, and managing project schedules and deliverables.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute numerous project responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Bluebeam, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Revit.
