Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations group. We are looking for an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team potentially in a remote application. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and organized that seeks collaborative approaches.

Responsibilities
• Preparing environmental compliance reports such as: SARA Title III - Tier II reports, air emissions reporting and/or bulk pesticide state forms.
• Prepare and provide Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance activities for locations subject to RMP requirements.
• Manage the Underground Storage Tank binder program for locations subject to UST regulations/requirements.
• Verifying and cross-checking records with other information available such as fixed assists. Requesting missing information from field staff or locations.
• Preparing support information such as diagrams, letters, charts and project summaries for environmental permit applications.
• Organizing and maintaining electronic environmental project files.
• Collecting and entering data inputs into various such as Intelex, SAP or other ERP database systems.
• Maintaining and updating key registration information.
• Verifying compliance with regulations as well as helping locations develop programs and compliance strategies.
• Reviewing and providing compliance guidance for water quality program requirements.
• Provide organizational assistance on special EHS related assignments pertaining to community outreach, Sustainability, EHS engagement or other special projects.
• Working with locations to provide assistance with location specific EHS materials.
• Work with local, state, federal, tribal officials pertaining to EHS related activities.
• Assistance with EHS staff pertaining to potential due diligence pertaining to mergers and acquisitions.
• Participate in creating environmental programs, policies, procedures and related documents to ensure compliance with the rules and implement best management practices such as Universal Wastes, Hazardous Wastes or other related EHS functionalities.
• Participate with the coordination and management of an SDS online system. • Providing reports to management showing current status projects, activities, reporting or other system elements.
• Maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
• Up to 40% travel.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental &/or Safety field
• 2 + years of compliance experience
Additional Qualifications
• Master’s degree in an Environmental, Safety or Science field
