Role description:
This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. We are looking for a Sustainability Specialist with expertise in LEED and other 3rd party green building rating systems to join the Architecture and Urbanism Sustainable Design team. As a Sustainability Specialist you will join a highly collaborative and creative team dedicated to excellence in sustainable design and innovative problem solving. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, a self-starting individual driven to succeed, and passionate about sustainability.
Role accountabilities:
- Manage green building certification administration for multiple projects across all offices.
- Provide technical expertise and support on green building certifications and codes during project planning, including checklists and participation in project meetings.
- Act as a key LEED expert, offering guidance, critique, and assistance to project teams, with expertise extending to certifications like WELL, Fitwel, Living Building Challenge, and BREEAM.
- Address team inquiries about green building rating systems, with a focus on LEED documentation and processes.
- Collaborate with the Sustainable Design team to advance firmwide sustainability objectives.
- Participate in LEED meetings, eco-charrettes, and goal-setting sessions for project brainstorming.
- Deliver educational sessions on sustainable design trends, accreditation systems, and their impact on practice.
- Research and share information on cutting-edge sustainability practices, materials, technologies, and codes.
- Gather case studies to showcase sustainability achievements and best practices.
- Support the Sustainable Design team with firmwide initiatives, including 2030 reporting, data collection, and creating impactful presentations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building Science, or a related field, with LEED BD+C or LEED ID+C accreditation required; additional accreditations preferred.
- 3+ year of experience with expertise in green building strategies, other rating systems (e.g., WELL, BREEAM), and familiarity with performance simulation tools for solar, daylight, and energy analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a design background and attention to detail preferred.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to sustainability principles.
