RETTEW is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist with wetland delineation and permitting experience to join their Natural Sciences Team in the Environmental and Geotechnology Practice. The candidate will assist Team Leads, Project Managers, and Environmental Scientists on existing and upcoming projects primarily within the Tri-State Area. The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA, or Akron-Canton, OH, with in-office work and hybrid options available.
Responsibilities include conducting wetland delineations, environmental investigations, and collaborating with other environmental professionals. The candidate will also prepare reports, technical documents, and environmental permit applications for local, state, and federal agencies, as well as interact with clients and regulators.

Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Performs moderate environmental assessments and routine technical work.
- Prepares portions of environmental plans, specifications, and other project documents; assists with preparation of other environmental deliverables.
- Performs research and field investigations, collects data and gathers information or documents.
- Develops and/or assists with tasks such as field activities including environmental sampling, data analysis, permit applications, and report writing.
- Consults project team about regulations impacting projects; performs regulation research as needed.
- Conducts soil, water, and air sampling and analysis.
- Assists in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and statements.
- Participates in site assessments and remediation projects.
- Supports the development of environmental management plans and strategies.
- Assists in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation.
- Conducts environmental monitoring and audits.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geo-environmental, biology, or related field
- 3 - 5 years of experience
- Wetland delineation experience required
- Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting experience a plus.
- Hand-held GPS experience preferred
- Desire to learn a wide variety of disciplines
- Periodic overnight travel
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Microsoft Office software proficient
- CADD or GIS experience a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
