How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This role requires a highly motivated, people oriented professional to provide technical and regulatory environmental oversight and support for sites operations and capital projects. Its scope includes projects and programs across environmental areas including air, waste, stormwater, wastewater and chemicals management. This role coordinates and works effectively with a variety of teams including Engineering, Operations and HSES personnel supporting ongoing business operations to ensure meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and Air Liquide standards. The Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Assurance role develops and implements strategic approaches that drive environmental performance improvement, meet stakeholder needs and provide business value.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Work with the Global Environmental and Regulatory manager and the whole team to formalize the best practices of Regulatory management and to develop and implement the strategic plan;
Work with APAC Environmental and Regulatory manager and Environmental and Regulatory Team to further develop and implement the ALAM Compliance Assurance program;
Develop, and implement self assessment tools and program for sites compliance with regulatory programs including waste, wastewater, stormwater, air, and emerging areas; provide training, support and review;
Train and transfer the self assessment tools to the site representatives to make them autonomous;
Develop, communicate and train on compliance programs, processes, best practices, and tools to assure compliance and improve management systems;
Collect and evaluate data to assess and improve Legal and Air Liquide Compliance programs;
Identify and share ALAM waste reduction and pollution prevention Best Practices across global locations for implementation;
Collaborate with functional and site teams to improve Waste Minimization and Pollution Prevention programs;
Enhance US sites waste minimization plans collaborating with Process Engineers, Chemists, and Sites HSES;
Evaluate sites waste streams and waste management systems to reduce waste volumes and hazards, improve waste management and drive efficiencies;
Support the Air Liquide Industrial Regulatory Compliance Program including regulatory tracking, regulatory watch and process effectiveness;
Monitor and maintain current knowledge of federal and state legislation, regulations and practices and determine impacts to ALAM operations and business functions;
Identify upcoming environmental requirements applicable to sites operations, develop and implement related compliance programs;
Collaborate on sites legal registers reviews, updates and compliance planning.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Biochemical), or Science discipline
4-5 years broad-based industry or consulting technical and regulatory environmental experience (air, water, solid waste, wastewater, regulatory) including compliance programs
Demonstrated technical expertise in air, wastewater, water, and solid/hazardous waste management systems and controls
Experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements with a pragmatic approach
Experience with Environmental management systems and tools
Excellent data collection, management and analytical skills
Demonstrated project and data organizational skills with ability to multi-task
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Positive, can-do attitude, flexible, self-motivated and able to perform well under changing priorities and timelines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex ideas and concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or Related Science
5+ years Specialty Chemicals or Pharmaceuticals Industry Environmental and Regulatory experience
Experience working in an empowered organization
Demonstrated ability to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment
