Your Role in Sustainability
As the Cocoa Sustainability MEL Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, helping to shaping strategic sustainability program decisions with actionable insights. This role is pivotal in delivering accurate, timely reporting and developing systems that advance our commitment to sustainable cocoa sourcing.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership: Act as the go-to expert on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) for the Cocoa Sustainability team.
Performance Management: Develop and manage efficient data collection, analysis, and knowledge management systems to monitor progress and ensure data credibility.
Reporting Excellence: Lead submissions for Mars’ internal and external sustainability reporting, ensuring compliance and transparency.
Strategic Insights: Partner with cocoa sustainability experts and commercial stakeholders to translate data into actionable strategies.
Industry Representation: Advocate for Mars in cross-industry platforms, shaping standards for sustainability reporting and learning.
Innovation in Knowledge Management: Design systems and workflows that uphold data privacy while streamlining KPI management.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven expertise in developing and executing MEL strategies and implementing knowledge management systems.
Strong understanding of sustainability challenges and data collection techniques in smallholder farming contexts.
Track record of generating insights for corporate sustainability reporting.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
Exceptional organizational, coordination, and collaboration skills to work effectively across internal teams and external partners.
Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in international development, sustainability, economics, statistics, or related fields.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience in complex global agricultural supply chains, particularly in cocoa.
Technical capacity in GIS, geospatial analysis, and ERP systems like SAP.
Language proficiency in French and Spanish.
Strong mentoring and coaching skills to develop MEL capabilities within a global team.
