MCFR Spectroscopy Intern
TerraPower, LLC. is seeking a highly motivated Spectroscopy Intern to support cutting-edge research in the optical spectroscopic investigation of oxygen and moisture interactions in molten salts. This position will play a pivotal role in a broader project aimed at enhancing nuclear safety utilizing advanced laser and optical spectroscopic techniques. The intern will focus on critical materials—including fission and corrosion products and impurities—and their interactions within this complex environment.
The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate student specializing in chemistry, materials science, or physics, with a background in laboratory work and optical spectroscopy. While knowledge of radiochemistry and experience with molten salts are beneficial, they are not required. Candidates should possess strong experimental planning skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work independently within a focused, high-performing team. The candidate must be capable of working closely with a focused and high achieving group, working with minimal day-to-day supervision. Responsibilities

Key Qualifications and Skills
•Demonstrated laboratory experience, familiarity with optical spectroscopy techniques preferred
•Pursuing BS/MS/PhD in chemistry, materials science, physics, or related fields
•Excellence in written and oral communication
