Base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.
$111,544.00 to $160,345.00

This is a key position within the Transmission group reporting
to the Director, Transmission and Interconnection, within the Vice President, Organic Growth organization of Avangrid Renewables (AREN). The position location can be flexible with a preference in Mid-Atlantic region.
Primary responsibility of the job is to assist the Director interconnection in creating value for AREN by securing interconnection agreements and developing associated interconnection strategies—in conjunction with the Transmission Portfolio in PJM, NYISO or ISONE.
In support of AREN’s renewable projects and development pipeline, the Analyst will aid in managing a portfolio of interconnection queue requests and managing the interconnection process from submittal to construction. The ideal candidate will have 3+years in the independent generation development, preferably a technical background with electrical engineering, transmission and/or generation development expertise, but will also possess good commercial experience (i.e., not solely a technical resource). This position will serve as a "utility player" across AREN’s regional focus areas, assisting the regional interconnection leads to become more efficient in determining the best interconnection strategies, support filing of interconnection requests, and will also work on specific initiatives as directed by the Director, Transmission and Interconnection. The ideal candidate will have experience interfacing with TO and ISOs on generation interconnections, responding to such requests from a transmission owner perspective, or having performed third-party analysis to assist in determining feasibility of interconnection scenarios. Specific responsibilities, among others, will include:
- Coordinating with AREN Origination, Development, Asset Management, and Policy groups to enhance the value of AREN projects by developing the most favorable interconnection and transmission arrangements
- Researching and securing interconnection options for greenfield wind or solar sites
- Coordinating siting of interconnection and transmission facilities; collaborate with AREN Construction and Operations groups
- Overseeing/managing performance of technical screening studies to determine interconnection feasibility.
- Reviewing and coordinating execution of LGIP-related agreements
- Building and manipulating data utilizing ESRI
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, business or related field.
Minimum 3 years of industry experience in the following:
generation development, interconnections, transmission planning or utility operations, and/or power marketing. Experience and transmission system knowledge of PJM, NYISO or ISONE is preferred. Excellent communication skills, analytical skills. Ability to travel and support site prospecting and/or project development activities.
