ResponsibilitiesOperational Excellence:
Achieve target performance metrics (PR, CUF, PA, GA) monthly, ensuring operational efficiency across all solar sites.
Ensure timely closure of audits and maintain zero repetitive audit observations within the portfolio.
Manage inventory effectively to avoid stock issues, ensuring materials are categorized using VED, FSN, and ABC methods.
Implement technology initiatives such as BAX or Google IC to optimize operational performance and drive a cluster-based O&M philosophy.
Ensure DSM (Deviation from Scheduled Maintenance) costs do not exceed the budgeted limit, and report plant performance data within the first five working days of each month.
Finance and Budget Management:
Oversee budget management, ensuring the quarterly budget versus actual performance for each site is reviewed and reported.
Prepare and submit site-wise OPEX, CAPEX, and procurement budgets for the fiscal year ahead of the Finance team’s deadlines.
Manage O&M costs to stay within the approved budget, emphasizing efficient spare part management and cost-effective operational solutions.
Ensure a 45-day process time for PR to PO and ensure timely payment processing for all sites within the portfolio.
People Development and Team Management:
Attract, retain, and train site teams, ensuring that training man-days are tracked and plans are executed.
Identify and develop successors for key roles (including Cluster Head and Site Head) by the end of Q3 each fiscal year.
Promote a safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards, including Suraksha Samwaad (Safety Interactions) and monthly safety training.
Ensure zero accidents and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) across all sites by maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure 100% compliance with all safety standards, including Suraksha Samwaad, monthly safety training, and all regulatory safety inspections.
Ensure timely compliance with management systems, including ESG initiatives, Legatrix, 5S, IMS, and Business Excellence across all sites.
Achieve full legal and regulatory compliance, including factory licenses, CEIG inspections, and ABT meter calibration.
Technology, Analytics, and Process Improvement:
Drive the adoption of new technologies, such as module cleaning for water conservation and vegetation management to reduce costs.
Implement at least two measurable technology initiatives during the financial year to enhance site performance.
Ensure the timely execution of process improvements and analytics-driven solutions to reduce downtime and enhance solar plant performance.
Business Excellence and CSR:
Ensure the availability and implementation of updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all sites.
Lead and support CSR activities, particularly at the Yatnal site, in line with the agreed plans.
Maintain compliance with Business Excellence frameworks, including IMS certification, MAAS audit closure, and 5S implementation across all sites.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (O&M teams, engineering, HR, finance, procurement) to ensure smooth operations and efficient resource management.
Engage with external stakeholders, including customers, regulatory authorities, vendors, and contractors, to maintain seamless operations and compliance.
QualificationsEducational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is preferred.
Work Experience:
18+ years of experience in operations and maintenance management, ideally within the renewable energy sector (solar).
Proven track record in overseeing large-scale solar energy projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and achieving performance metrics.
Expertise in financial management, safety compliance, and technology adoption within solar operations.
