Team Profile
The Power and Renewables Research Team is a highly respected group of analysts producing market-leading research on the entire renewable energy value chain, covering onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage and power markets. Our cutting-edge knowledge of renewable supply chains, costs, deployments, and investment trends further strengthens Wood Mackenzie's offerings in the market during this rapidly changing time in the energy sector.
Role Purpose
Support the development and operation of energy storage supply chain models and associated processes, databases and reports of the growing Energy Storage service.
Main responsibilities
Lead new data collection, both qualitative and quantitative, on the energy storage supply chain, including electrical components, power electronics, batteries and other components in battery energy storage systems.
Monitor energy storage supply chain trends, technology development, pricing, offerings and company news.
Maintain and improve existing datasets and model outputs to ensure they are up to date and representative of current industry trends.
Assist in the development of the original market research and analysis with a culmination in client deliverables and industry thought leadership pieces
Work with other teams across Power & Renewables to maintain the consistency and integrity of data.
Collaborate with peers across Wood Mackenzie to support research reports, conferences, marketing services and editorial coverage.

Knowledge, skills and experience
Strong analytical capabilities, both qualitative and quantitative. Fluent with Excel and PowerPoint. Coding and programming experience (Python, R, etc.) is a plus.
Fluency with reading, writing and communicating in English
Intellectually curious and can think critically about the effect of a wider business landscape.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a global team.
Strong organisational skills and an eye towards collaboration.
An engaging nature, capable of connecting with coworkers, clients and industry stakeholders in a wide range of professional settings.
A bachelor’s degree in related technology, economics, and business field. A master’s degree is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of Chinese language is advantageous/preferred’ as the role will involve undertaking Asia databases management and reports of the growing Energy Storage service and projects with clients from various countries in the Asia Pacific region particularly in China. The role will also be required to have frequent calls/meetings with Chinese clients
