JOB SUMMARY: The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) is seeking a Program Communications Specialist to work as the lead or as senior member of a Program Office-based communications team to ensure the program management staff utilizes all appropriate communications tools and venues, with Departmental offices and staff involvement where appropriate, to successfully leverage information concerning critical programs and projects to the benefit of the program, its sponsors, and ultimately the customers. MAJOR DUTIES: This series covers positions managing, supervising, leading, and/or performing administrative and management work. Vacancies filled under this public notice may have varying levels of promotion potential and supervisory level, if any. Positions may be filled as permanent, term, or temporary with a full-time or part-time work schedule. As a Program Communications Specialist you may: Provide strategic advice to the Office Director and staff on communications strategy and managing the website, other online communications tools, press releases, print publications, and event planning and coordination. Prepare communications such as the development of program overviews, special reports, etc. within assigned areas and respond in oral and written form to requests for information by determining the nature of the information required and assembling the material using the appropriate format and style based on needs and organization. Engage with project stakeholders with respect to analysis and/or implementation of comprehensive program activities relating to the multifaceted clean energy initiatives required by various national program legislation or directives. Coordinate with internal and external in support of clean energy demonstration projects and their impacts and benefits.
