Position Overview:
The Vice President of Domestic Manufacturing Operations will lead the strategic direction and execution of global sourcing initiatives to support our solar manufacturing operations and clients in the Asia-Pacific (ASPAC) region. This executive role will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that ensure a reliable supply chain, drive cost efficiencies, and maintain the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and support the growth of solar manufacturing operations.
Lead initiatives to identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers, particularly in the ASPAC region.
Ensure the sourcing strategies support the company's sustainability goals and comply with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
Oversee supplier performance management, including regular assessments, audits, and development programs.
Foster collaborative partnerships to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the supply chain.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, quality, and logistics to ensure seamless integration of sourcing strategies.
Implement best practices in procurement processes, risk management, and inventory control to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to adapt sourcing strategies proactively.
Develop and manage the global sourcing budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and objectives.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and process improvements.
Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sourcing activities, including cost reductions, supplier performance, and compliance metrics.
Promote diversity and inclusion within the team and across the supplier base.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in global sourcing or supply chain management including experience in the renewable energy or solar manufacturing industry.
Leading large-scale sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships in the ASPAC region.
Understanding of global supply chain dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements affecting the solar manufacturing industry.
Negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a global, multicultural environment.
Proficiency in procurement software and supply chain management tools.
Ability to travel internationally as required (less than 10%).
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
