JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Tractor Operator, WG-5705-6 working in Elk Grove, California for the R8-Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. You will operate boats for transporting personnel and equipment. You will also operate Tractors to perform planting, harvesting of crops, mowing, and hauling. This position is also open to status candidates under announcement R8-25-12627541-SD-MP. You must apply to each announcement separately if you wish to be considered under both recruitment methods. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Tractor Operator your duties may include but are not limited to the following: Operate tractors with attachments on level and/or rolling terrain. Adjust equipment such as setting height of mower blades and depth of plow blades. Perform minor repairs and adjustments to tractors and equipment (replace chains and belts, change oil, hydraulic fluid and filters, check batteries and perform safety inspections). Operate and maintain motorized watercraft 10-22 feet long. Use a variety of tools (maps, compass, GPS) to orient and navigate waterways.
