Overview
As an EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Specialist at Schneider Electric, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our employees, protecting the environment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations through program development, risk assessments, training, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Help with implementation and maintaining the EHS management system.
- Monitor compliance with EHS programs by conducting regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root-cause analyses to identify potential risks and ensure that corrective action is taken.
- Assist in performing routine EHS inspections and evaluations.
- Maintain records related to safety programs.
- Support the development of the facility safety training plan.
- Aid in safety training, including new hire orientation training.
- Investigate injuries, near misses, conditions, and incidents to discover root causes and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist with the implementation of the ergonomic plan at the facility to help identify methods to prevent musculoskeletal disorders injuries.
- Participate in the plantwide safety/ergonomics teams.
- Order PPE supplies and manage the PPE vending program.
- Work with production and management to foster a safety culture and address concerns.
- Assist in developing safety performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
- Actively seek and propose new methods or technologies to enhance workplace safety and efficiency.
- Aid in the development of the waste management program to improve waste reduction and improve sustainability initiatives.
Who will you report to?
Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist - Environment/Sustainable Development
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing/construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and other relevant regulations.
- Understanding of ergonomics and methods to prevent musculoskeletal disorders injuries.
- Experience in facilitating in-house training programs.
- Experience conducting accident and incident investigations.
