JOB SUMMARY: This Park Ranger (I) Spanish Language position is located in Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River in the Interpretation and Education Division. The typical seasonal period for Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River is April - September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 6, 2025. MAJOR DUTIES: This Park Ranger (Interpretation) Spanish Language position is responsible for performing duties to include the following: Develops and presents interpretive programs to park visitors and youth groups both on-site and off-site with groups sizes ranging from 10 to 50. Staffs the Zane Grey Museum and provides informal interpretation on the western author as well as on the park. Operates the Eastern National sales outlet. Provides river safety talks and area and park information to park visitors. Performs roving interpretation by vehicle and foot at the public river accesses and area trails. Performs canoe patrols on the Upper Delaware River which include presenting water safety information to river recreationists and performing river rescues and assistance. Physical Demands: The work involves extensive periods of standing and walking, in some cases over rough surfaces or inclines, carrying backpacks, tools, rescue equipment, etc. Working Conditions: The work is performed in settings in which there is regular and recurring exposure to moderate discomforts and unpleasantness, e.g., high or low temperatures, confined spaces or adverse weather conditions.
