They are currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to join their dynamic team in New Albany, Ohio, United States. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to environmental health and safety initiatives within a leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology organization.

Responsibilities:

Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO14001 standards, and all applicable state and local regulations.
Conduct risk assessments for cytotoxic and high-potency manufacturing processes, focusing on Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) and Occupational Exposure Bands (OEB).
Develop and maintain safety programs, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, and waste handling procedures.
Perform comprehensive Hazardous Drug and chemical hazard assessments to ensure proper controls and chemical hygiene.
Create and execute corrective action plans based on facility risk evaluations and regulatory requirements.
Oversee environmental training programs, including Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), chemical safety, and compliance education.
Compile and maintain all necessary environmental reporting records, including submissions to EPA and other regulatory bodies.
Manage Hazard Communication databases, including chemical purchasing approvals and hazard assessments.
Lead initiatives for waste management, including regulatory reporting and waste minimization strategies.
Develop, review, and update safety data sheets for product lines, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
Partner with area management teams to maintain chemical inventories and ensure proper storage and transfer protocols.
Provide environmental compliance guidance to leadership teams and site management.
Support insurance and regulatory audits by completing safety risk management assessments.
Ensure the implementation of effective waste storage and handling systems to maintain certification and compliance.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of five years of experience in EHS compliance and program management.
Proficient knowledge of ISO14001 standards and U.S. Federal EHS regulations, with a history of effective interaction with agencies such as OSHA and EPA.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project.
Strong interpersonal and project management skills, coupled with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail.
Flexibility to travel up to 30%.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to wear protective cleanroom gear, including goggles, face shields, respirators, and gloves.
Capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
