We are seeking a Safety and Environmental Specialist with experience in safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance. You will provide direct support with planning, maintenance, and implementation of a comprehensive safety and occupational health program. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced corporate environment with a strong work ethic. Daily task and activity will include:
- Develops safety criteria, guides, and standards on a variety of topics.
- Develops reports, conducts inspections and surveys in addition to administering and coordinating Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- Provides recommendations and feedback on a variety of safety topics.
- Conducts thorough surveys of organizational safety programs and assists in identifying and analyzing safety and environmental hazards.
- Reviews safety policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure organizational compliance with applicable directives.
- Maintains accident and incident records, report documentation, and publications needed to support organizational activities.
- Conduct safety audits, fire extinguisher inspections, and inspections of all first aid kits and other safety related equipment.
- BS or BA degree
- Minimum of 8 years Safety management experience
- Ability to use and interpret safety laws, rules and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Some travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
Desired
- Master’s degree in related field
- Proficient knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations
- Ability to acquire Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and understands regulatory requirements.
- Experience in risk management and mitigation.
- Experience conducting workplace accident investigations
