Job Description
The HSSE Manager will be responsible for all HSSE matters of the Project, managing of all project activities and processes and providing appropriate levels of HSSE advice whenever required. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all project activities are carried out to a high standard in accordance with Masdar requirements and are transparent and supported by appropriate documentation. The HSSE Manager will also be responsible for the coordination of a team dedicated to the implementation of the Health, Safety, Social Management System, and for ensuring that all members of the Project teams comply with Masdar HSSE requirements in order to ensure that we protect the Health and Safety of everyone on the project and ensure that Environment is respected whilst being socially responsible.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, environmental sciences, social sciences, or related discipline • Trained and certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 • IOSH Certification • Membership in a recognized international HSSE organization is an advantage • Experience with solar projects and battery storage systems
Preferred Experience: • At least 10 years in HSE management in a large organization including at least 3 years in a managerial role in renewable energy projects • At least 1 year of experience in the management of international E&S requirements of IFC, EBRD, ADB at a construction site • Experience in the UAE gaining strong knowledge and understanding of local rules, regulations, systems, and processes related to sustainability
